Unity in the Essentials
While respecting theological distinctives, we stand together on the historic creeds and this Code of Conduct, consolidating our public witness.
1. Transcending Secondary Divisions
The Christian Church is fractured by secondary denominational silos. While distinctives in church government, liturgy, and secondary doctrines have their place, they must not prevent us from standing together in a hostile culture.
The Christian Council focuses on the essentials: the historic orthodox creeds, the authority of scripture, and the moral demands of the Gospel. On these foundations, we present a unified front to the world.
2. The Strength of a Unified Voice
Critics of the faith often exploit denominational infighting to discredit Christian truth claims. By presenting a coherent, unified defense of our core beliefs and behavioral standards, we render these division tactics ineffective.
We do not ask partners to compromise their local church covenants; we ask them to align with this shared Code of Conduct in their public witness and interactions, showing a unified standard of sanity.
3. Practicing Ecclesial Charity
In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity. We practice charity when discussing secondary doctrines with other believers.
Avoid using public platforms to debate minor theological details that distract from the core defense of the Gospel.
Actively seek ways to share resources, support other orthodox congregations, and collaborate on strategic community initiatives.
